The purpose of the scene was to introduce the true character of Mercutio. It was also to let the audience know how and where Romeo and Juliet would meet to get married. The nature of Mercutio is an arragant jerk. He has no respect for the nurse. Mercutio has no respect for women in generall. A quote to sum up Mercutio's character is "Good Peter, to hide her face, for her fan's the fairer face (II,iv,77)."

The main purpose of this scene is to set up the character of Mercutio. He is simply just a average teen with a very high self of steam and/confidence. He is also a comical character for he jokes about almost every topic he has spoken about so far and there for he is portrayed as a fun loving individual who really only cares of his own enjoyment of life and his own well being.

The general purpose of this scene was to show the audience who Mercutio really is. Not only is he a jokester, he is a completely inconsiderate, sexist, jerk. His attitude towards the nurse was unneccessay and terrible. Another purpose of this scene was to provide on information on where and when Romeo and Juliet would meet to get married.

The purpose of scene four was to further characterize Mercutio. In addition, it was to enlighten the audience as to how Romeo and Juliet are to marry. The character of Mercutio is not super complex. Simply put, he is a teenager. Moody, arragant, testy, and does not respect women as he should. The general nature of Mercutio is to not really care about what you say, and just be rude. A quote to sum it up is "Good Peter, to hide her face, for her fan's the fairer face (II, iv, 77)."

What this scene did for the audience was to give information on the meeting place of Romeo and Juliet to get married. It was also to set the real character of Mercutio. Mercutio's character can be described as disrespectful and rude. It shows that he has no respect for anyone, especially women and he takes everything as a joke. Everything he does in life is to enhance his own image, and its clear that he likes to show the people around him that he is a "tough guy". A good quote from the text to show his character is, "Good Peter, to hide her face, for her fan's the fairer face(II.iv.77)."

In Act II.iv. Mercutio’s character became clearer. He is a jokester with little respect for women and the classes below him. Also he is pretty much exactly like any other teenager: he is full of himself and only cares what his peers think of him. He makes fun of anyone he can including his friends. A quote from the text that shows this would be “That’s as much to say, Such a case as yours constrains a man to bow in the hams.” (II.iv.38)

The purposes of Act II. iv. is to establish Mercutio's character, find out who wants to kill Romeo, and where Romeo and Juliet will meet. Mercutio's character involves many insults and prattling. Examples of this lie throughout his time on stage. One is how he treats Romeo. He says that Romeo is a girl, "That's as much as to say, such a case as yours constrains a man to bow in the hams (II iv, 51-52) is one of his insults. Another of his insults aims at the lower class, the Nurse, as if he is a prince to think he is above them. His insults to the Nurse are of how she is ugly, "Good Peter, to hide her face; for her fan's the fairer face (II iv, 1033-104)." What can be deduced about Mercutio, is that he's pompus, and insulting.

The main events that were established in the events were Romeo and Juliet about to get married, the duel between Romeo and Tybalt, and the character of Mercutio.
Mercutio is the type of character that likes to fool around a lot and make jokes toward things that other people might feel is offensive and rude. In this scene (Act. 2 scene 5) he made a very rood remark about the Nurse and thought it was funny. "Good Peter, to hide her face, for her fan's the fairer face (II, iv, 77)." But in fact the Nurse wanted to beat him and she said that if she couldn’t she would get other people to do it. Also Mercutio prattles a lot and goes on and on until some one stops him.

The purpose of act four is to arrange Romeo and Juliet to meet with the friar and to give some more characterization to Mercutio and the Nurse. Mercutio is a joker and wants to impress his friends. He is arrogant and snobbish towards the poorer people. He is prejudice towards those in a different social class than him. He just wanted to impress Romeo and Benvolio, but almost made Juliet’s messenger, the nurse, leave. A good quote to summarize Mercutio is “Farewell, ancient lady, farewell, lady, lady, lady (II, iv, 91).” It tells us that he is a joker and he insults people "lower" than himself.

The purpose of the scene was to characterize Mercutio. It was also to arrange a time for Juliet and Romeo to meet with the friar and get married. Mercutio was revealed to be not only a jokester, but an arrogant, rude, and selfish jerk. He does not care about Romeo, he actually accuses him of being a woman. He says "That's as much to say, such a case as yours constrains a man to bow in the hams" (II, iv, 51 and 52). He also is rude to the nurse, and almost causes her to leave. He says "Good Peter, to hide her face, for her fan's the fairer face" (II, iv, 77). This shows that he does not have much respect for women, and that he only cares about himself. Mercutio's purpose is to be annoying and disrespectful. He never seems to do much else.

Their were a few purposes to scene 4 but the main poit to scene 4 ws to charactrize Mercutio. Mercutio is a very pestmistic person. He is also a jokester. He likes to insult people lowe than himself especially women. Mercutio does not believe in love but only lust. He himself only lusts over women. A good quote to summerize mercutio would be "Good Peter, to hide her face for her fan's the fairer face". This shows that mercutio is both rude and a jokester. The other points of act 2 scene 2 was to show that Romeo and Juliet are going to g married and to show that the nurse respects Juliets decision and is acceping of their relationship.

There were several purposes of Act II. iv. The first purpose was to establish what Mercutio and Benvolio thought of Tybalt. The second purpose was to introduce that Romeo is a very clever person, as shown in his “battle of wits” with Mercutio. The third purpose was to further develop the character of Mercutio. The last purpose was to establish Juliet and Romeo’s plans for getting married.
One of the main character traits of Mercutio is his mocking sense of humor. Another prominent character trait of Mercutio is that he does not believe in spirits or anything he can not see. These two traits often go together, like when Mercutio makes fun of Queen Mab, the fairy of dreams. So far, Mercutio’s main role in the play has been comic relief. He almost never takes anything seriously, and can often be inconsiderate. A good quote to describe Mercutio would be when he says: “Thou desirest me to stop in my tale against the hair” In this quote, Mercutio admits that his nature is disrespectful mockery, and to stop would be against his nature.

The purpose of Act II. iv. was to establish where Romeo and Juliet were to meet when they are going to wed and to characterize Mercutio. Mercutio can be thought of as a rude jokester. He enjoys putting other people down and making himself fell superior to others. For example, he says to the nurse, "Good Peter, to hide her face, for her fan's the fairer face (II, iv, 77)." Mercutio doesn’t care about other people’s thoughts or feelings and tends to be very disrespectful toward them.

The purpose of the scene was to introduce the character of Mercutio. This act also described and told how and where Romeo and Juliet were getting married. Mercutio's character is pretty much an immature, childish, and ignorant fellow. He thinks he is in a higher class than woman is. He totally disrespected the nurse saying “Good Peter, to hide her face, for her fan's the fairer face." (II, IV, 77).

The purpose of act II scene iv is to show more of Mercutio's character to the audience. Also to show the first time Romeo and the Nurse met.
Mercutio is a comic relief character in the play. He is a classist and rude. He thinks that love is from physical appearence.
A quote that represents Mercutio so far in the play is:
"Good Peter, to hide her face, for her fan's the fairer face."
This shows how Mercutio is a classist and offensive.

The propose of this scene was to show us that the nurse supports the Romeo and Juliet marriage even though Romeo is a Montague. We also get lots of characterization on Mercutio. We find that he has very little respect for women. He has lots of self confidence and he is very rude and snobby. In the scene he says "Good Peter, to hide her face, for her fan's the fairer face (II,iv,77)". He is calling the nurse ugly just to be a jerk.

In act two scene four Romeo and the nurse set up a way and a place for Romeo and Juliet to meet and get married. And the nurse gives Romeo and Juliet her approval. Mercutio is a very interesting character. In today’s world his views and aspects of life would almost be considered atheist. He is very laid back and realistic. And he only really believes what he can see. A quote that could summarize this paragraph would be “Good Peter, to hide her face, for her fan’s the fairer face”. (Act II Scene iv Line 77 Page 521).

Act II iv.'s purpose is to shed new light on the characterization of Mercurtio, to see that Tybalt desires a duel with Romeo, and to let the audience see how Romeo and Juliet plan to get married. Before Act.II iv. Mercurtio is seen a skeptic pessimist who jokes about everything and takes nothing seriously, but in Act.II.iv. we see that he is really sexist and inconsiderate and does not care about anyone other than himself in life. He is very rude to the nurse and he says "Good Peter, to hide her face; for her fan's the fairer face." (II, iv, 77) In these lines he is saying the nurse's fan has a prettier face than her and she should hide her ugly face.

With regards to Mercutio, the purpose of Act II. iv. was to reveal to the audience a deeper view of the character. In addition to this, we seen the physical passage of the wedding message from The Nurse to Romeo (part of this interaction gives insight into Mercutio's character). Mercutio is a flamboyant fellow and know to be a joker. This scene depicts his darker attributes- being arrogant, mean, and insulting. For example, when Mercutio is referring to The Nurse's servant brandishing a fan, he says, "Good Peter, to hide her face, for her fans the fairer face". This is obviously insulting to the The Nurse. Also, Mercutio directs Romeo's conversation away from The Nurse, showing his disregard and skepticism. Through all of this there is scattered witty banter from Mercutio, making his rude tone clear. At this point in the play, a quote that represents the nature of Mercutio best thus far would be a line spoken by Romeo-"[Mercutio is] a gentleman, nurse, that loves to hear himself talk, and will speak more in a minute than he will stand to in a month...". Notice that this quote is not made by Mercutio himself but Romeo. One cannot understand Mercutio by looking at his words alone.
